The problem with this country is that people assume that if you don’t agree with their lifestyle, you hate them. There couldn’t be a bigger lie out there that continues to churn the waters of discord in this country. There are many times my own mother and I have disagreed on things and I can promise you that she’s disagreed with MANY of my choices; but the love was still there. Sometimes it felt like she loved me more. Many of my decisions did not make her happy, but she still loves me. This country has been falling apart for decades. To claim this country wasn’t built on God and Biblical principles shows your ignorance. Today, we still swear on the Bible in court and our dollars are embroidered with the solemn words: In God We Trust; which became our nations motto in 1956. Our President lays his hand on the Bible when he is inaugurated and church was held in our nations Capital building from 1795-1860. There is even a statue of Moses holding the Ten Commandments in the Capital building’s rotunda. George Washington, our very first Commander and Chief, said these words after the Bill of Rights was passed in 1789: “the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor”. Marriage and this nation belong to God first and it always will no matter what our mislead judges believe. Five people who sit in a room will never be able to take that away from God, in fact, they’ll be judged for it. To think that the people of this country are all right with these five people making a decision to redefine something so fundamental is the stupidest thing I ever heard. That’s not even a democracy. The reason no one cares is because they believe that this “fight” was about love winning. But love was never the problem…. If a man and another man want to live together and be in a relationship, I don’t judge. If a man and another man want a document drawn up so they have the same rights as married couples, I still don’t judge. That is their choice. What I do have a problem with is a nation that “redefines” something that NEVER belonged to them. They adopted the idea of the marriage license in 1929 so they could control marriages. They wanted to know who was getting married, when and where so they could be taxed accordingly. But the act of marriage NEVER belonged to the Government. Marriages were handled by churches and officiated by pastors and spiritual leaders “in the sight of God and all of these witnesses”. wedding-rings-vows-card-9346133 I have some very good friends that are homosexual, and that’s okay with me. And even if it wasn’t okay with me I would NEVER try to change them. I love them and nothing will change that. I love who they are and I think they are beautiful. I will never accept or condone their mistreatment in ANY FORM, but I shouldn’t be bullied because of my beliefs either. What I will say is that I am disappointed in many Christians lately. I’m disappointed and surprised by what I hear. Many of them sound like they’re not Christian at all. They have NO love inside them as if what they say they believe is a complete lie. People who are homosexual don’t deserve to have scripture and judgement spouted to them. You aren’t God, you don’t know their heart. Shut up, please. Pastors, if they believe what they preach, shouldn’t perform a gay wedding. If it’s what you believe, stick to it. Stand up for it, otherwise take your place in the congregation and learn something. Don’t talk out of two side of your face. You either believe in marriage to be one man and one woman OR you believe marriage to include same-sex couples. This country may now see marriage to include all, but God does not and will never. So you’re either on God’s side defending His honor or you have more trust in the Government. If you believe that God is okay with same-sex marriage, read your Bible. If you don’t believe in the Bible, we have nothing else to talk about. To be clear, if the 4% of this nations population which are gay chose to live in a union, that is not my judgement call and does not change the love I have for them. My issue is and will always be that the redefinition of marriage does not belong to the government or any person. Marriage is what God created it to be when he created Adam and Eve – one man and one woman to populate the earth as a symbol of how Christ loves the church. Any so-called Christian that has a problem with that really needs to study what they claim to believe. You can’t pick and choose what you like when you stand for something. Like a marriage, it’s either all or nothing.
