Are you crazy? Have you completely gone mad?

We’re supposed to be Christ-like… that’s what Christian means. Have you forgotten who you are supposed to be and what you have come from?

This election, if anything, leaves me disappointed and a bit angered – not at the outcome – but at the behavior of those who are “supposed” to know better. The quarreling and angry words to those who don’t share what we believe is NOT how we are meant to spread the good news of what we know. We’re not being a light if we’re casting darkness through anger and bitter words of hopelessness.

I’m ashamed and disgusted. I see messages of fear for our next four years and anger toward the Democratic party. Why? Where in the Bible does it say to be afraid or to share Jesus with anger and quarreling? Where is your Hope? Where is your Faith?

Do you know your scripture? Do you even read your Bible? As God’s people, those who put our faith and trust in Him, no man or government can harm us. As Isaiah 59:19 later states: ” …When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Or how about Romans 8:31 where it states: “…If God is for us, who can be against us?”. The Governement is NOT our enemy but we are charged to pray for it: ” First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men, for Kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2.

Did you forget that we were never called to put our trust in a man? “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.” – Psalm 20:7.

You, who know better, drop your angered statements and sentiments toward other people as if you have the right to speak to anyone that way. You who are supposed to love your neighbor as yourself and to act in love and with gentleness. ” For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” – Ephesians 6:12.

Don’t you know that this quarreling does nothing to spread love? “Remind everyone about these things, and command them in God’s presence to stop fighting over words. Such arguments are useless, and they can ruin those who hear them.” – 2 Timothy 2:14.

If you are a true Christian you will know that God allowed our President to win. There is a purpose and a reason: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven.” -Ecclesiates 3:1. His ways are not our ways as it states in Isaiah 55:8-9: ” “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” ” Why are you discouraged?

If you really want this nation to change don’t look to the President, pray for him. If you want to see God’s requirements carried out then do something about it. Do not crush or destroy with your words but build up and show what is truly supposed to set us apart. It’s time to grow up Christians; stop acting like children. Children throw tantrums and spew angry words when things don’t go their way but God needs men and women to care for a world that needs us. Feed the poor, help the lost and go forward in love. Do something and start today if you’re so angered. Read your Bible, understand what you’re really standing for and change to reflect the Christ that you profess – otherwise the only thing to fear is the wrath of God on the day of judgement.
